Quick fix on Samsung Galaxy S5 App stops responding after the update

If your app stops responding after system update, it seems like the app's cache and data had been corrupted or become outdated that causes the app to function abnormally. On the other hand, if the firmware has been bugged during the update that could be a reason as well that the issue is happening on your phone. But since, we are not certain what triggered the problem all you need to do is to perform the step by step procedure until we can find a solution and resolve the problem. Here are the methods you should do:

Step 1: Delete the System Cache Partition
In this mode, we have to delete all system files and data stored in the directory so that newer caches will be created and would not cause any issues once it is loaded to the system. Don't you worry, doing this method won't do any harm on your phone or your important files stored in the internal storage. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time; the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons.
  3. When the phone vibrates, release the Power button but continue to press and hold the Home and Volume Up buttons.
  4. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home buttons.
  5. Press the Volume Down button to highlight 'wipe cache partition'.
  6. Press the Power button to select it.
  7. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot System now is highlighted.
  8. Press the Power button to restart the device.
When wiping the cache partition is done, try to use again your phone and observe if the issue still persist. If it is still happening, proceed to the next method.

Step 2: Reset your phone
Factory reset is usually performed if the previous methods is unable to fix the problem. But before you do so, we recommend you to create first a backup because all your personal files and data saved on your phone will be deleted. But the good thing is, if the device has been bugged or has a software-related issue, then, this step has a big chance to resolve the problem.
  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the following buttons at the same time: Volume Up, Home and Power buttons until you see the Android screen.
  3. Use the Volume Down button to highlight 'wipe data/ factory reset' option and press the Power button to select it.
  4. Use the Volume Down button to highlight 'Yes-delete all user data' and press the Power button to select it.
  5. Use the Power button to select 'Reboot System Now.'
  6. When the S5 restarts it should be completely wiped and ready to set up again.
