How to fix "Check Battery Cover" error in Samsung Galaxy S5

Usually, there are tons of reasons to consider that error messages appears in the phone screen without apparent reason. It could be caused by a glitch in the system or the device has a serious firmware issue. In this instance, I'll tackle one of the reports from Galaxy S5 users saying that "Check battery cover" error message keeps on showing in the device screen several times a day. So, what we have to do now is to isolate first the problem and consider all possibilities until we can reach to the conclusion and fix the issue. These are the methods that we want you to do:

Step 1: Restart your phone and remove your SD card
This method is a very basic one, in which, it refreshes the memory of the phone and fix any glitches in the system that might causing the issue to occur. Although there is no assurance that the problem will be fixed if you do this step. But there were some reports from other users saying that after they rebooted their device the error message is no longer appearing in the screen. To do so, just turn off the device and remove the battery and press the Power button for 7 seconds. Now, place it back the battery and power on your phone and observe if the error message still appears. If the problem continues, follow the next step.

Step 2: Boot in Safe mode
In this environment, we will eliminate the suspicion that a third-party app is causing the problem. Through Safe mode, all downloaded applications you installed on your phone will be disabled temporarily and only the pre-installed ones will be running in the system. So, while booting in this mode and the error message is not anymore popping-up, then, there's a culprit causing it. Find that one by uninstalling each app you downloaded starting from the recent one you installed. Follow these steps to boot in safe mode:

  1. Turn the device off.
  2. Press and hold the Power key.
  3. When Samsung Galaxy S5 appears on the screen, release the Power key.
  4. Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume Down key.
  5. Continue to hold the Volume Down key until the device finishes restarting.
  6. Safe mode will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.
  7. Release the Volume Down key when you see Safe mode.
However, after you boot it in safe mode and the error message still pops-up on your phone. jump over to the next method.

Step 3:Create a Backup and reset your phone
This method is more complicated compare to the previous procedures that you performed on your phone because you have to bring the device back to its default settings and all saved files and data on your phone will be erased. So, before you do this method, we suggest you to create first a backup by transferring everything to your SD card or Personal computer.
  1. Pull down the notification bar and tap Settings.
  2. Tap Back and reset under User and Backup.
  3. Tap Factory Data reset.
  4. Tap Data reset.
  5. Tap Delete all and wait.
  6. Reboot the phone.
