Samsung Galaxy S5 Settings: Access, Search and other Options

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Settings app or service is the heart of the phone's operation. Through it, you have access to the phone's core services and you can manipulate how the phone behaves and operates. Therefore, it is imperative you know how to access it, search through it and know all options. Don't worry, this post will walk you through this.

This tutorial is intended to all Galaxy S5 owners especially those who are still learning the ins and outs of their phone.

How To Access Settings

There are two ways you can access the Settings service on your Galaxy S5:

Method 1

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
  2. From the list of apps, find and tap the Settings icon.

Method 2

  1. From the Home screen, touch and hold on the Status Bar.
  2. Drag the Status Bar down to display the Notification Panel.
  3. Now tap on the Settings icon (cogwheel).

How To Search Settings

If scrolling seems a hassle to you, then you can search Settings by following these simple steps:
  1. From the Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
  2. From the list of apps, find and tap the Settings icon.
  3. Now tap on the Search icon.
  4. You may enter the keyword to commence the search.

Settings Options

  1. For your convenience, you can set to your preference how Settings would look like. 
  2. From the Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
  3. Tap on the Menu icon to display options.
  4. You have four options to choose from:
    • List view/Grid view - this allows you to display Settings in a list or grid view.
    • Tab view - if you want to display Settings by category or tab, you can choose this option.
    • Edit quick settings - you can customize quick settings to your preference; you have the option to display or not to display some settings.
    • Help - well, if you need more help with the Settings service, tap this.
