According to them, after installing the latest update their device started to function abnormally, in which, the fast charging stopped working without apparent reason. So, this time all we need to do is to determine all factors why this problem is happening through performing some basic procedures on your phone until we can find a solution and resolve the issue.

Here are the methods that you should do on your Galaxy Note 4:

The purpose of doing a battery-pull procedure on your phone is to eliminate the suspicion that a glitch in the system is not causing the issue. This will refresh the memory of the device and close all apps running in the background, so,if this is just minor software problem, then this method will fix it. After removing the battery, press the Power key for 30 seconds to release all electricity stored in the hardware components. However, after you do the method and fast charging still not functioning, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Try to clean the charging port of your phone
One of the factors that the device stopped charging it is because the charging port is malfunctioning. In this case, the best thing that you need to do is to clean its charging port using a compressed air to remove any debris that might preventing the device from charging. After you do so, let the device charge and see if it is responding. If not, move over to the next procedure.

Step 3: Boot your Galaxy Note 4 on Safe mode
Booting your phone in safe mode will eliminate the suspicion that a third-party app may be causing the issue. This is a diagnostic state wherein all downloaded applications will be disabled temporarily from the system and letting the pre-installed ones running. So, if fast charging option will be activated while in this mode, then, there's an app responsible for it. Find that one and uninstall it to fix the problem.
  1. Turn off your phone.
  2. Press and hold the Power key and the Volume Down key.
  3. When the starts to boot, release the Power key but continue holding the Volume Down key until the phone finished restarting.
  4. Safe mode will be display at the lower corner; you may release the Volume Down key now.
But if the issue persists, follow the next procedure.

Step 4: Wipe the System Cache Partition
Since, the system has been updated it's not far that the caches were become outdated and might conflicting the system that resulted the issue on your phone. So, in this instance, we suggest you to wipe the cache directory so that fresher ones will be created. Here's how:
  1. Turn off your phone.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Home keys together, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the Note 4 vibrates, release both Home and Power keys together but continue holding the Volume Up key.
  4. When the Android System Recovery shows on the screen, releases the Vol Up key.
  5. Using the Volume Down key, highlight the option 'wipe cache partition' and press the Power key to select it.
  6. When the wiping of the cache partition is finished, highlight 'Reboot system now' and hit the Power key.
After deleting all old caches, try to charge your phone and see if fast charging is already working. If not, there is a chance your device is experiencing a serious issue.

Step 5: Create a backup and do a reset
If all procedures you performed on your phone failed to fix the problem the last option that you can do is to reset it. Doing this method will bring the device back to its factory default and will delete all your personal files stored in the internal storage. So, before you do the method be sure that you transfer all of it to your SD card or personal computer to make it easier for you to restore it back if the problem is fixed.
