There are two ways you can take a screenshot on your new Samsung Galaxy S5. While these ways are pretty simple, it is best you know them especially when you always want to share something interesting on your phone.

Taking a screenshot using hardware keys

If there is one thing very common between Samsung smartphones, it's the Power-Home keys combo.

Step 1: Pull up the screen you want to capture.

Step 2: Place your right thumb on Power/Lock key located in the right side of the phone.

Step 3: Now place your left thumb on the Home key.

Step 4: Press both the Power and Home keys simultaneously.

The phone will play the shutter sound, a sign that a screenshot has already been captured.

Taking a screenshot using palm swipe

By default, taking a screenshot with palm swipe is enabled on the Samsung Galaxy S5. So, you don't have to worry how to set it to work.

Step 1: Hold the phone with your left hand steadily.

Step 2: Using the side of your palm, swipe from the left to the right quickly.

The phone will also play the shutter sound as a sign that a screenshot has been captured.

Where to find screenshots

The Galaxy S5 will copy the screenshot to the clipboard, which will then be saved inside the Screenshots folder in the Gallery. Moreover, recent screenshots will appear in the Notification Panel. You can pull the panel down and you view the screenshot by tapping it from there.

When you expand the screenshot in the Notification Panel, you are provided quick access to the Delete, Edit, and Share features. To dismiss the notification, swipe it to the left or right.

So, that's it! You now know two ways to take a screenshot on your new Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone.
