This tutorial will guide you through clearing or closing recent applications and how to call on and access Samsung Galaxy S5 Task Manager. These procedures will help boost your phone's performance and most likely to resolve freezes and lags on your device.

Recent Applications

Here's how you display and close recent apps on your phone.
  1. From any screen or app, touch the Recent key to access the Recent applications screen. Now, a list of apps will be displayed on the screen.
  2. To close any of the apps, touch and hold its thumbnail.
  3. Touch Remove from list to prevent the app from running in the background and remove it from the list of Recent applications. Or, you can simply swipe the thumbnail left or right.
  4. To manage the app, tap App info and you will be brought to the Application manager.
  5. To close all apps in one touch, tap the Close all icon at the bottom right of the screen.

Task Manager

The reason why these two procedures are bundled into one article is because you need to access the Recent applications screen to easily call on the Task Manager.
  1. While in Recent applications screen, tap the Task Manager icon located the bottom left of the screen.
  2. You will now see the list of active applications as well as the status of your phone's RAM.
  3. To close an app, touch the End button on the right.
  4. If you want to end all active app processes in one touch, tap End all button at the bottom of the screen.
I hope this tutorial has somehow helped you.
